Very excited to have received this beautiful edition of The Complete Works of Michel De Montaigne today.
This will be my first foray into his work. I'm hoping to learn a lot about writing essays as I understand he is said to have invented the format and that his are some of the finest.

I can't recall how Tinkers, by Paul Harding ended up in my reading list or why I skipped ahead of other books to read it but I'm glad I did. Possibly, it was the beautiful cover that hooked me.
What a hammer-drop of prose virtuosity. Completely arresting. Some books appeal because the subtle beauty of finely crafted sentences seeps in through your skin. The writing in this book is an injection into your carotid artery.
